JLR to open new R&D site in Ireland

Car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover is set to open a new R&D site in Shanon, in Ireland.

It will have a focus on software engineering and open up 150 new jobs.

As reported by Electrive, JLR seeks to step up its capabilities in advanced automated driving and electrification technologies.

The company has also entered into a partnership with I.A. specialist Udacity to do progress in areas such as robotics, data analysis and so on.

It has been reported that JLR wants to electrify its entire line-up and 25,000 people have reserved the first fully electric model, the I-Pace.
