Groupe Renault to invest €1bn in EV development in France

Groupe Renault is investing one billion euros into the development and production of electric vehicles in France.

The plans include a new Alliance electric platform in Douai to create a second Renault electric vehicle production site, as well as doubling the ZOE production capacity at Flins, the only ZOE production site in the world.

The investment will also see electric motor production capacities at Cleon triple as well as the introduction of a new generation electric motor from 2021.

There will also be investment in Maubeuge for the production of the next generation of the Kangoo family, including the electric utility vehicle Kangoo Z.E.
