Tesla Model 3 has delivery date for late 2017

News

Tesla has confirmed that its Model 3 will be revealed on 31 March, with production and deliveries set to start in late 2017.

The new model witnesses Tesla challenge the compact executive saloon market which hosts the likes of BMW, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Lexus and Infiniti. The all electric Model 3 is expected to  cover around 300 miles on a charge, with prices in the £30-35,000 area, earmarked as the company’s ‘moderately priced’ model.

Tesla also predicts production figures to climb to almost 200,000 in 2016 with the Model S and Model X electric vehicles (EVs) taking increasing shares in their respective markets, an expected increase on the 107,000 vehicle sold last year.

With the Model X delivered later than expected, the production prediction of late 2017 should not be taken too seriously, but the brand has promised to offer more accurate and practical forecasts for vehicle production in a bid to shake of its ‘late’ reputation.

More details are expected at the cars launch event at the end of March.
