Gatwick Airport's on-site taxi firm commits to going all-electric

Airport Cars, Gatwick Airport's on-site taxi company, is to replace all its 250 vehicle fleet with electric vehicles by 2020.
The company has ordered its first batch of Tesla S model electric cars and will test their suitability in the New Year.
On average Airport Cars' fleet drives 12 million miles per year in around 350,000 journeys which produces 2,600 tonnes of carbon emissions.
The company hopes to reduce its CO2 emissions by half as a result of the change.
Tesla will also be helping Gatwick and the taxi company with the cost of installing charging points at the airport.
