Solution developed to offer fleet charging on people's driveways

News

Driveway sharing platform JustPark has launched FleetCharge to enable businesses to switch their fleets to electric vehicles (EV) years earlier by unlocking charging on private driveways.

With FleetCharge, JustPark will find a local homeowner with a driveway within a five-minute walk of the EV driver, install a home charger and give said fleet driver exclusive access to that charging point.

This innovative programme is managed exclusively by JustPark, who, for homeowners, will cover all the costs associated with installing a discreet EV charger at their home, as well as day-to-day running costs including any subscriptions and electricity costs. Through FleetCharge, all the upfront EV charging installation costs are covered, but it could potentially earn the hosts a guaranteed additional income of £1,000 a year - all tax-free.

JustPark is inviting homeowners with a driveway across the UK to register their interest in becoming a FleetCharge host and potentially earning a guaranteed income of £1,000 a year.

Mike Strahlman, Director of EV, JustPark: "The transition to an electric car is much harder for anyone who can't charge reliably at home, company car driver or not. Understandably, many motorists wouldn't even consider it. With FleetCharge now offering a reliable, guaranteed overnight charging solution for those who can't plug in at home, it promises to make the jump to an electric car much more attainable for a whole range of business users. Plus, for hosts, the guaranteed monthly income could help households who are feeling the pinch due to rising living costs."
