LowCVP conference to look at business benefits of greener transport

The LowCVP’s ‘Moving North’ conference is set to take place this Thursday, 12 April, and will focus on the challenge of cutting carbon emissions and air pollution from transport.

It will also look at business opportunities across the automotive and fuel supply chains.

The conference is being held in association with the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, the Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA) and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM).

Hosted by Manchester Metropolitan University and sponsored by GEFCO and Uber, the conference features a range of speakers including: Bob Moran, deputy head at the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV); Mike Hawes, chief executive at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT); and Andy Eastlake, managing director at the LowCVP.

It will look at the future of transport in the Northern Powerhouse region and will discuss the regulation of carbon dioxide and pollutant emissions, as well as the demand for cleaner and more efficient vehicles.

A drinks reception will follow on from the conference.

The event is free for LowCVP members and there will be a 25 per cent discount for members of the Northern Automotive Alliance.

Non-members are invited at the standard price of £100.
