Rebranded ‘Groupe PSA’ to launch 11 EVs by 2021

PSA Peugeot Citroën has been rebranded itself as ‘Groupe PSA’ and confirmed that it will release 11 cars with an electric powertrain by 2021.

The rebrand is said to symbolise the transformation of the company, as led by the new ‘Push to Pass’ strategy.

According to PSA, the strategy sets out new strategic focuses and specific objectives which are anchored in two primary ambitions: ‘to be a great carmaker with cutting edge efficiency’ and to be ‘a preferred mobility services provider worldwide for lifetime customer relationship’.

As a part of this new strategy, PSA has announced that it will release seven plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), as well as four additional pure electric vehicles (EVs) by 2021.

Additionally, as part of its ‘rich and sharp core technology strategy’, PSA will also focus on the deployment of its connected and autonomous vehicles programme, with the aim of meeting customers' mobility needs by ‘anticipating changes in car usage patterns’.

Commenting on the ‘Push to Pass’ plan, Carlos Tavares, chairman of the managing board said: "Based on our financial reconstruction, we will launch a global product and technology offensive. Now more agile, we are ready to shift paradigms by anticipating changes in car usage patterns. Our digital transformation will make the PSA Group a company connected to its customers. With 'Push to Pass', we will ensure PSA profitable organic growth."
