Peugeot introduces fuel efficient non-hybrid vehicle

News

The new Peugeot 208 claims to be the best-performing non-hybrid vehicle, featuring a range of efficient petrol and diesel engines and has introduced the lowest CO2-producing variety to UK stores.

The car boasts low emissions of 79g/km, making it the best-performing non-hybrid on the market and includes two trim models, in Active and Allure, both powered by a 1.6 litre BlueHDi 75hp and Stop & Start technology.

The 79g/km models are capable of achieving 94.2mpg and can reach 106mph. The car’s increased efficiency is part of Peugeot’s wider initiative to reduce the CO2 emissions of all its vehicles, through the accelerated implementation of the 3-cylinder PureTech petrol and BlueHDI diesel engines.

Peugeot maintains that this technology, in addition to the new 1.6 litre THP engines and EAT6 six-speed automatic transmission, will help to develop environmentally friendly engines which produce less CO2.
