Nissan has revealed its new LEAF, which has a longer range of 235 miles on a single charge.

According to the brand, it has been “redesigned for a new generation” with a “sleeker look inside and out”.

It features ProPILOT - an advanced driver assistance system to enable safer and more comfortable driving and ProPILOT Park for fully autonomous parking.

It also has e-Pedal technology to allow for driving and braking in a “new and seamless way”.

Hiroto Saikawa, president and chief executive officer at Nissan, commented: ““The new Nissan LEAF drives Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which is the core brand strategy for Nissan’s future.

“The new Nissan LEAF, with its improved autonomy range, combined with the evolution of autonomous drive technology, such as ProPILOT Park and the simple operation of the e-Pedal, strengthens Nissan’s EV leadership, as well as the expansion of EVs globally.

“It also has the core strengths that will be embodied by future Nissan models.”

The new Nissan LEAF will be on sale in Europe from January 2018.
