New shipment of ix35s gives Hyundai Europe’s largest hydrogen fleet

A new shipment of ix35 fuel cell vehicles has given Hyundai more than 250 fuel cell vehicles in Europe, giving it the biggest fleet of hydrogen powered vehicles on the continent.

Hyundai’s total fleet of ix35s is now larger than all other manufacturers hydrogen fleets combined. The extra availability comes just after Toyota’s new Mirai went on sale to European markets and Honda confirmed a wide release of its new Clarity fuel cell vehicle, launched at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The ix35 is the first step in Hyundai’s ultra low emission vehicle plans, with a proposed 12 hybrids, six plug-in hybrids, two electric vehicles and two more fuel cell vehicles due by 2020.
