Hyundai announces pricing of hybrid and electric IONIQs

The Hyundai IONIQ, available in all-electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, undercuts the Toyota Prius.

Prices will start from £19,995 for the IONIQ Hybrid SE 1.6 GDi, which is around £3,000 less than its Toyota Prius rival.

Prices for the IONIQ Hybrid Premium 1.6 GDi start from £21,795, and go up to £23,595 for the IONIQ Hybrid Premium SE 1.6 GDi models.

The electric models start from IONIQ from £28,995 and is expected to receive eligibility for the Plug-in Car Grant, enabling customers to potentially receive a £4,500 grant towards the purchase of the vehicle.

All IONIQ Electrics feature standard rapid charge compatibility, ensuring an 80 per cent charge capability in just 33 minutes from a 50kW CCS Combo Rapid public charger, whilst a standard ICCB Charging Cable will allow charging from a domestic 3 pin supply. IONIQ Electric also features adjustable regenerative braking, via steering column mounted paddles, maximising driver engagement and enhancing efficiency.

IONIQ Hybrid will be available across the Hyundai dealership network from the 13 October, with IONIQ Electric initially available from a selected network of 27 dealerships, with full network rollout from 2017.

IONIQ Plug-In Hybrid 1.6 GDi prices and specifications will be announced prior to the on sale date in 2017.
