Charge points to be included on motorway signs

News

Motorway service signs will now include the Ecotricity company logo, allowing EV drivers to see which services have electric charging points.

Ecotricity is the most comprehensive charging network on UK motorways, with 260 charge points spread out across the country.

The company’s logo will now appear on Roadchef signs alongside national brands such as WH Smith, McDonald’s and Costa.

Dale Vince, founder of Ecotricity, says: “There are now over 50,000 electric cars in Britain; that’s more than a tenfold increase in two years, and this exponential growth is reflected in the use of the Electric Highway, which powered 15 million miles of emission free driving last year – all powered from the wind and the sun.”

A total of 28 signs will soon feature the Ecotricity logo, with the first appearing on Roadchef’s Sedgemoor services on Tuesday 26 January and additional signs to be installed at Hamilton and Norton Canes over the coming weeks.
