240 Renault EVs for Norwegian postal service

Posten, the Norwegian postal service, is set to order 240 Renault Kangoo Maxi Z.E. electric vehicles (EVs) to join its fleet.

The Kangoo Maxi Z.E. has a range of 106 miles and will be mostly used in areas of high population. The 240 units will join Posten’s existing fleet of 900 electric transport options, which includes cars, bikes, quadricyles and trailers.

The move is part of the postal services commitment to reduce CO2 emissions by 40 per cent by 2020. Norway is currently one of the top markets in the world for EVs, which account for 20 per cent of all new vehicle registrations in the country. The uptake of EVs is due in part to a committed government incentive policy, with EVs exonerated from VAT, road tax, parking fees, road tolls and ferry charges, as well as being entitled to use bus lanes.
