POD Point Launches Open Charge with no RFID cards

Charge point supplier POD Point has launched its new Open Charge network, removing the need for RFID cards.
The new Open Charge points will operate through an intuitive app, which won’t require membership ties or monthly payments. Users can plug in to start charging immediately, and then have 15 minutes to access to the web or mobile app to confirm their charge.
This system removes the need for RFID cards, and also allows for a 15 minute emergency charge if the user does not have access to the app.
A pay as you go option is also supported, if the host site chooses, which will allow drivers to use the app in a similar way to an oyster card, with the cost deducted from their balance each time they charge.
