BMW offers new wireless charging option for new 530e model

BMW has revealed that its new 530w iPerformance model will have a wireless charging option from 2018.
The wireless charging option will allow drivers to charge the 530e iPerformance without having to plug in a cable.
The wireless system will be able to charge at a rate of up to 3.6 kW, topping up the car's battery in around three and a half hours.
The 530w iPerformance brings BMW’s electric vehicle count to nine, which is more than any other manufacturer.
The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has a fuel consumption figure of 148.7 MPG and CO2 emissions of 44 g/km. In addition to this, the all-electric range is quoted to have 31 miles and a 9.2 kWh battery pack.
