Morgan launches EV3 in Geneva

News

Morgan Motors has unveiled its first production electric vehicle (EV) at the Geneva Motor Show in the form of its three wheeled EV3.

The EV3 will have a claimed range of 150 miles and production is planned to start in the fourth quarter of 2016, with pricing expected to be comparable to its petrol three wheeler counterpart.

The launch follows the soft launch of the EV3 concept back in 2015, and Morgan is marketing the car as looking at ‘the world of zero emissions from an entirely different perspective’.

The EV3 re-introduces the dramatic tail lift seen on 1930’s three wheelers produced by Morgan and it will be the first vehicles to utilise composite carbon panels in its body construction for the bonnet, tonneau cover and side pods, which are all made in the UK and help to keep the cars weight to 500kg.
