Truck trip planning made easier by TomTom

Navigation company TomTom has revealed the availability of truck trip planning on its TomTom MyDrive platform to customise journeys.
The launch allows drivers to save on driving time by planning a route, customising preferential roads or stops, due to synchronisation with the TomTom TRUCKER navigation device.
Favourite fuel and rest stops, community points of interest and relevant, personalised customisations can be added at the drivers wish, while speed camera alerts and real-time traffic are shown, helping the driver to complete deliveries on time.
Conveniently, TomTom MyDrive takes into account truck size, weight, cargo and speed.
Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director of TomTom Consumer, said: “The innovative combination of truck-specific routing, with highly accurate TomTom Traffic information, is designed to help save time and increase efficiency. Drivers will know the best time to depart, so when they get in their vehicle, they’re ready to go.”
